Description
Set Skills are a new feature in Patapon 3. They are skills that can be equipped to provide a bonus to one of your stats. These bonuses stack with other set skills so if you equip a set skill that gives you a 20% bonus to damage with a spear and another that gives you a 30% bonus to damage with a spear, you will have a 50% bonus to damage with a spear. If you have all three set skills equipped (20, 30, 50%), you will have 100% bonus damage!
The number of set skills you can equip is different for each patapon type. There is also a class skill that increases the number of set skills you can equip. You equip skills at the loadout screen before a mission. Also, all classes, Uberhero or not, get an extra set skill slot at level 20.
The Set skills selection screen
Set skills are unlocked by leveling up your units. A unit can equip set skills unlocked by any unit that it can change to. This means that the Uberhero Patapon, which can change into any other Uberhero, can choose any set skill from any Uberhero you have!
The last set of skills are usally learned at levels 15, 25, and 32, skills prior to that depend on the type of Patapon. All Peerless skills can only be learned by the Uberhero Patapon, as many require entering Uberhero Mode. All Peerless skills are learned at level 32. Note that this is also the last skill on the list, so a class could have either 4 Set Skills or 5 Set Skills if they are an Uberhero and 3 Set Skills or 4 Set Skills if they are Kan, Chin, or Ton (regular units).

"This gives the user a 20% boost to attack power when equipped with a spear or pike." (Effect halved for other weapons). Unlocked at level 3.

"This gives the user a 30% boost to attack power when equipped with a spear or pike." (Effect halved for other weapons). Unlocked at level 7.

"Marching speed increases 20% when Fever strikes. (For multiplayer only)." Unlocked at level 25.

"Grants immunity to status effects in Hero mode, but slightly increases damage taken during that period. Can only be learned by Uberhero." Unlocked at Level 32.

Trivia
- In the multiplayer demo, Spear Attack, Bow Attack, Horn Attack, and Club Attack Set Skils didn't give a halved effect if equiped on a Uberhero who doesn't wield said weapons.
- In some cases, the more equipment a class has, the less Set Skills they get. Kibadda gets a horse and a shield as an extra, and he can get 3 set skills maximum. Same for Charibasa, a chariot and a shield extra, 3 set skills maximum.
- A class with 3 pieces of equipment (e.g Jamsch) can have up to 4 set skills. This excludes Oohoroc and Pingrek, which have up to 3 set skills.
- A class with 2 pieces of equipment (e.g Yarida) can have up to 6 set skills. Other classes like Yumiyacha get up to 5 set skills.
- (all of the above) This applies to all Dark Heroes as well with the amount of Set Skills they can have.
- Classes can have up to 4 - 5 set skills of their own. Some classes like Oohoroc get 2 set skills at a time they reach a certain level.
