BlacksmithInterface

The Blacksmith interface, with a Flame Sword [H] highlighted.

The Blacksmith is a location introduced in Patapon 3 that allows the upgrading of Equimpent with Ka-ching and various materials. Only Common and Enchanted equipment, such as a Flame Sword or a Ice Shield [HP], can be upgraded. Unique, Super Unique, and Ultimate weapons cannot be upgraded and can only be improved by looting more powerful versions from Treasure Chests.

Upon reaching levels 11 and 31, the item will change in appearance and can be renamed (10 character limit). Equipment cannot be upgraded beyond the level of the highest leveled Uberhero.

Requirements[]

Using the blacksmith

The costs for upgrading depends on the class of the equipment, the enchantment, and the current level. Simpler items, like Swords and Helmets, are usually cheap to upgrade, while late-game items, like Cannons and Chariots, are far more costly.

From level 1 onward, materials will also be needed to upgrade equipment alongside the Ka-ching cost.

  • Taterazay-class weapons will require Stones, Iron Ore, Titanium Ore, Mithril, and Adamantine.
  • Yarida-class weapons and all armor will require Mudada, Gashirin, Dodeka, Ottoma, and Demon Bones.
  • Yumiyacha-class weapons (With the exception of Cannogabang's weapons, which requires ores) will require Wood Branchs, Cherry Trees, Hinoki, Super Cedars, and Bowtie Trees.

Arch Items[]

Once the first item attains level 11, 21, or 31, its category can be chosen as the Blacksmith's Arch Item. The Arch Item denotes what category a Blacksmith specializes in and allows that category to be improved beyond other categories. Depending on the Blacksmith's tier (+11 = Tier 1, +21 = Tier 2, +31 = Tier 3), the Blacksmith will improve in appearance and allow other categories to be improved further as well.

For example, a Tier 1 Blacksmith with a Sword Arch Item can create level 11 to 20 Swords, while all other categories are limited to level 10. Thus, having a Tier 3 Blacksmith allows one category to reach levels 31 to 40, while all other categories to reach level 30. Note that switching Arch Items is possible upon reaching the current tier with a different category. Once an Arch Item is changed, all previous Arch Items will be reverted to the previous tier's cap. Switching from a Sword Arch Item to a Bow Arch Item will revert all level 31+ Swords to level 30.

Multiplayer[]

During Multiplayer, players can use the host's Blacksmith to upgrade their equipment. The host's Blacksmith's Arch Item may be different, allowing players to upgrade their equipment without changing their own Arch Item. This method is the only way to have multiple pieces of equipment above Tier 3. In exchange, the host will receive Ka-ching and Star Shards (If the host and the user are in the same Clan) each time the Blacksmith is used.
