“ | Sound engineers scatter sonic balls clear away the foe - and sometimes stagger them too! | ” |
— US In-game description |
Wondabarappa is a Wanda Megapon Uberhero first introduced in Patapon 3. Wondabarappa specializes in supporting his team, both by providing an array of buffs and by controlling enemy crowds with his sonic waves. Using a sturdy longhorn, he can blow foes away with his sound waves, which can ricochet between enemies and terrain.
Acquisition[]
Wondabarappa is at level 3 when unlocked, which is when Yumiyacha reaches level 3.
Appearance[]
Wondabarappa initially sports a orange mask in the form of a Wanda Rarepon and wears a blue cape by default.
As Wondabarappa evolves, his mask widens and turns brown, resembling a Wandaba. Finally, the mask's colors darken, resembling a Wandabata.
Equipment[]
Wondabarappa can be equipped with:
- Helms by default.
- Horns and Capes by default.
- Longhorns at level 5.
Uberhero Mode: Mucharapapa[]
- "Fire three sonic balls per shot. The balls bounce about unpredictably and relentlessly inflict damage upon foes."
During Mucharapapa, Wondabarappa fires a burst of three large, bouncing sound waves that remain active for a considerable amount of time. The sound waves deal damage as they bounce and ricochet between enemies and terrain, quickly racking up damage and inflicting status effects. Increasing Wondabarappa's attack speed will increase the rate of the bursts.
Class Skills[]
As with all Class Skills, each skill requires 100,000 experience to master. The amount of experience gained is dependent on the skill.
When Fever Mode is activated, symbols temporarily appear above Wondabarappa's head -similar to the Uberhero mode- based on learned Class skills. When Heave Ho is learned, a silhouette resembling the Pata drum appears. With Heave Ho 2, a sword symbol appears after the drum. With Heave Ho 3, a shield symbol appears as well. Once Heave Ho 4 is unlocked, a winged shoe appears along with the others.
Set Skills[]
Wondabarappa can equip up to three Set Skills. At level 20, he can equip another Set Skill, for a total of four.
Skill | Description | Unlock Requirement |
---|---|---|
Horn Attack 1 | 30% boost to attack power when equipped with horn weapons Effect halved for other weapons. | Reach level 7 |
Windmill Power | Power-up while there is a tailwind! Criticals occur more easily. | Reach level 15 |
Horn Attack 2 | 50% boost to attack power when equipped with any horn. Effect halved for other weapons. | Reach level 25 |
Peerless Dog | (Uberhero only) 5% boost to various stats for entire team. Effect combined if other members use same set skill. | Reach level 32 |
Strategy[]
- PonChaka followed by the PonPon song will cause Wondabarappa to fire bladed sonic balls that fly straight forward along the ground, piercing through targets and structures and is unaffected by wind conditions.
- Wondabarappa struggles to demolish structures, as the Sound attack element deals little damage to structures. As an Uberhero, he can use Destrobo Demolitionist Set Skill to supplement his structural damage.
- Alosson's Tropical Tailwind Set Skill is very useful for Wondabarappa, especially when using Wondabarappa's Windmill Power Set Skill.

Trivia[]
- After the multiplayer demo, Wondabarappa's Uberhero Mode was modified so that it fired at a lower trajectory, since it kept hitting the ceiling of a dungeon.
- Wondabarappa's mask was originally a Cannogabang-blue color.
- There is an error on Wondabarappa's Class Skills in the game. The skills state 'Superior skill to Hey Ho (1-3)', instead of Heave Ho.
- The difference between the sonic balls of Jamsch and Wondabarappa is that Jamsch fires more sonic balls and elemental ones, but they don't last as long.
- Sometimes while Wondabarappa is in Uberhero Mode if you listen closely you can hear a dog barking. The sound is quite faint and deafly heard.
- Wondabarappa's Class Skills are one of the easiest ones to develop, since they only need Fever to level up.
- Even though Wondabarappa's Rarepon type, Wanda, was focused on dealing damage, this class is actually more of a support unit rather than a damage dealer due to his Class Skills.
